The governor of Oyo has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).The 52-year-old governor made this known on Monday evening to the public through his twitter handle @seyiamakinde,
“I just received my COVID-19 confirmation test result. It is POSITIVE,” he said.
Makinde, who is head of the COVID-19 task force in Oyo state, stated that he will continue to self-isolate and has handed over his duties in charge of the task force to former Chief Medical Director, University College Hospital, Professor Temitope Alonge.
“I am asymptomatic and will continue to self-isolate,” Makinde tweeted on Monday evening.“I have designated Prof Temitope Alonge, former Chief Medical Director of the University College, Ibadan, as the Head of COVID-19 Task Force while I recover fully,” he tweeted.”Please continue to comply with all the directives from the COVID-19 Task Force. Stay home, stay safe,” he added.
